1. Check your diet

Most of the time the reason of swelling is fluid and electrolyte balance disorder, the lack of potassium, protein, the excess of carbs or its shortage. We all know that the excess of salt in your diet is the cause of liquids uptake but not everybody understands where this excess comes from. Still if you add not much salt to your food you should keep in mind that there is salt already inside in many of the products you eat: sausages, cheese, sauces, chips, prepared food and even cottage cheese and bread.

The lack of potassium leads to the swelling. Include rich in potassium products in your diet (beans, dried fruits, spinach, bananas) and reduces the coffee intake since it removes this microelement from your body.

2. Drink a lot of pure water.

A lot of people are afraid to drink more while swelling. But in vain. Water depletion makes your body keep every liquid that it obtains from food of drinks. Replace all beverages with pure water and your body will let it go easily later.

3. Move around more.

If you sit a lot during the day the lymphoid outflow is difficult and by the end of the day you have swollen feet. Get up and walk, make a few exercises. Jump, run, do some squats. If you lie down to rest raise your feet to lessen the swelling.

If the swelling becomes regular and becomes painful you should consult your doctor to find the cause. Maybe your body is signalizing you.
